Day 198 Oct. 23, 2012

Spinach and cheese spread:

Whenever my family and I find ourselves at Cibo, we have to make sure that part of our order is this little appetizer. It's basically made of spinach and cheese - and tastes as good as it is healthy. It's basically a patte, and it gets to be spread on those crispy thin slices of bread (as seen in the background).

We don't get to finish the spinach dip before the bread bits get finished - but that's just fine. I get to use up all the remaining spinach on my bread stick... or the bread stick of anyone who doesn't want to eat their piece. It's just okay for me to have this with any bread - partnered with any pasta. If I can discover how this is done, I may try making it every weekend.

But for now, I'm enjoying this rare treat - not in a weekend, and not with the family. It's one of those rare occasions with me and Cibo. I find myself in the Shangrila with lunchtime to spare and a sudden craving for... you guessed it, spinach patte (or spread, or whatever it really is called - yeah, I know... I like the food but dont' really remember their name, but c'mon - that's what menus are for). Once I've satisfied my craving, I'll be going back to work in CG2.
