First eBook read for the year:
Reading ebooks are a relatively new thing for me. Not that I have not done them before... but 2012 was probably the most ebook friendly year for me, as I have been more proactive with Kindle or the Kindle reader (with thanks to my iPad) than ever before.
Well this book in particular was something that I received from Fred. An obviously interesting topic, given my fondness for reading anything military (which is why I like Tom Clancy), to anything historic and a good read. This book comes across as both because it explains the prepaprations (with certain limits) to how the team that killed Osama Bin Laden trained, lived and prepared for such missions.
Mark Owen (a pseudonym used to protect not just the author's identity, but of his family and friends as well) gives a good account of what happened. Being one of the participants, and in fact, being an eye witness to what transpired in that particular mission, gives him a command of the facts - and as he said, one of the things he wanted to do with this book, was to set the record straight... specially after the media blitz putting the mission on the spotlight. On a more practical side, this book... like it's predecessors, gave me something to do while waiting for my turn to facilitate a training (Testing with Tess).
