Osmena Circle with Tree!
One of the new things I did not see my last time around. Apparently, the tree in Osmena circle is likewise an annual thing - however, with the weather being a bit flaky, and with the experiences the city had with past Christmases, the city council decided to greatly reduce the tree's size to just about half of what it used to be, and set it up at a latter (meaning closer to Christmas) date.
This was not in the news, but something I concluded after a simple conversation with a chatty cab driver from Accenture to my hotel room. Despite the said size reduction, this tree is still a few stories high, as you can see the people mingling around the park - not just for it, but for the variety show happening at the circle's makeshift stage.
I have to say that seeing the tree in the morning was not too spectacular... but in the evening. Now that is a sight. In the typical Cebu tradition, below the tree, you'll see a replica of the Cebu Sto Nino as part of it's base. I was tempted to go out and walk in the park, but seeing as to the tree's size, I knew it would be hard to capture the entire tree if I was there... so better to capture it on an upper floor of the Summit Circle.
