Fruits to meet the New Year:

Another tradition that our family practices is to make sure we've at least 13 round fruits on the table to meet the new year with prosperity... in fact, this particular year, I believe we were able to get 15 fruits, and I guess that in this particular practice, anything greater than 13 will definitely be better.

Of course, at the end of the day these are just sayings... beliefs... but the viable outcome here will be having fruits for the first days of the year - whether as dessert or as shakes... and these fruits, when taken will be healthy for us. So whether we're talking goof fortune, belief or just plain healthy eating, having these fruits for the new year is a good thing to have - so good, in fact, that I hope we get to sustain having fruits regularly (like we tried doing this 2012) as part of our regular diet.
