Way back when I was still courting Barbie, this was the perfume I used to keep me smelling well. Of course, it was just one of the many perfumes I would use (and use up) in our continued (and continuing) relationship - first as a steady couple, and later... a married couple.
Apparently, the fragrant stayed in Barbie's mind - and when she was looking to give me a gift, she was seeking this out. She did get me a Polo (number 3) for my birthday two years ago - and it did smell good. But it wasn't exactly what she was looking for.
I considered the fact that if she were looking for something I wore almost 18 years ago, chances are it would have been the classic Polo (also in a green bottle, as you can see). Lucky for her, we knew a place that sold this brand and this type of perfume. She then proceeded to buy it (with me, since I drove for her - there goes any semblance of surprise, but at least I know what I would be getting) about two weeks into December, and just placed it in an open box - extracting a promise from me not to touch it until Christmas. Well... it's Christmas, and I can officially use it... though not everyday... just for special occasions. After all, I want to make sure this lasts as long as possible.
