Lanterns:
Christmas tradition in the Philippines is never complete without the star lanterns... from the humble paper-based designs like the ones shown here, to the more sophisticated capiz-based designs that even have small Christmas blinking lights - admitedly more expensive, but hopefully a lot sturdier and useful for a few years.
The ones shown in this picture are the more traditional ones - complete with those fancy tails at the star's bottom corners. As they're also very cost-efficient (a.k.a. cheap) they can appear in almost any place - case in point, the parlor I usually go to for my haircut. Definitely just one of the many 'beginning to look a lot like Christmas' factors... at least, in the Philippines, that is.
