Pili Nut:
This is what is used when we talk about the famous Bicol pili nut which is turned into many differing snacks or desserts. There's the Pili cake, the pili nuts cooked with sugar, hence having a sweet caramel-like coating, and there's the pili tart. But I have never seen the nut in it's natural state... until now.
This is how the pili looks when not yet opened (we remove the outer cover to get to the nut) and one can then eat it as is... just like any nut, or cook it, or grind it to become part of another product. Whichever the case, I love to eat these nuts. My favorite is the tart or the brownie like product, which I can consume in one sitting.
