New Starbucks!
Before this became the new Starbucks, this place used to be Grilla. My colleagues and I would normally frequent the place to enjoy a few drinks - and food, specially after enduring a tiring (and at times, challenging week). Sometimes, we also get together and stay at this same lower area - enjoying the same things... drinks, pica pica (finger food) and company.
But the Grilla - just like out memories, are now a thing of the past. Change ensues, and after a few forgetful months of something (which I can't even remember) poorly mirroring the Grilla, it was inevitably destined to close... and with that, any semblance of having a place to hang and drink near the workplace. What eventually replaced it; as can be seen, is a new Starbucks - one opened to serve the usual Robinson's Boni crowd; the Globe telecoms people and maybe a spill-over of Accenture people as well.
So here I am, trying out the new place - not for the coffee, since I know the coffee well, but more for the place. I was curious to see how it looked. I must say that the place looked well lit - and because of it, the place looked bigger, and yes, I don't mind saying that it looked great. Definitely gone is the drinking place... but a new place; one where maybe my colleagues/friends and I might hang around can be possible. After all, isn't that the reason for a Starbucks?
