Apparently so. These medium sized guards are Beagles - known to have great noses... and inside a mall/resort, that is all they are needed for.
Apparently, the resort want's their K9s to be less obvious and one way of doing it is to make sure the dogs (at least, the one's inside the mall/resort) won't be a large breed. So Shepherds stay outside... Beagles hang inside.
It's not a bad idea... in fact, I'm glad to see these guys as part of the security force. It's the first time I've seen such a breed working to keep the place and it's client's secured. I applaud these kind of dogs, and I wish I could emulate their training. And if their kind of work allows them to take quick naps... well even better.
