Burgoo Easter Monday Dinner:
The gift certificates were given to me by Tizza quite some time ago... you see, it was a gift to her and Li (I think it was a thank you gift to them form Li's office mates), but for practical reasons, they could not go all the way from Cuenca, Batangas to Manila - specifically, the Podium in Mandaluyong (or Pasig, as I'm not too clear on the two cities borders), so they and their family could enjoy a meal worth Php1,500 in Burgoo's. For some reason, these gift certificates were just for that particular branch... so, instead of not using them, the two gave the certificates to me.
On my end, I've been setting it aside until we (that is, my family and I) ended up in the Podium and then we could enjoy the meal. Of course, that was the plan. Unfortunately, with the 'out of sight - out of mind' consideration, there would be days we were all together... but no certificate. Go figure.
Well today being a holiday, and coming from the Holy Week (yesterday being Easter), we had all the time to plan and prepare for this meal... and despite that, it still almost did not push through... as one thing would lead to another - and possibly postponing the meal. But we all persevered - really made sure our schedule was clear (barely, at that), and finally ended the wait for using the gift certificate. So yeah... we had our little Easter Monday dinner at Burgoo's and got to use the gift certificate. I ended up paying a little over Php300 despite the use of the certificates... but we were stuffed. Unfortunately, I had not taken pictures of the food... I guess you could say we were all very eager to start eating, taking any picture was very far from our minds. Ironic when you consider we actually had seven different cameras or camera-equipped devices with us.
Ah well... c'est la vie. Thanks again Tizza and Li!
